Looking at the Saratoga card for tomorrow, I'm wondering what an MT is beside certain horses - e.g. My Miss Sophia in Race 3 tomorrow.

MTO (main track only) designates a horse entered in a race carded on the turf. The trainer only wants to run in the race if the weather is bad and the race is taken off the turf.

You will also sometimes see "AE" next to a name. That means "also eligible". That means that there were more horses entered in the race than can run. So an "AE" will not run unless other horses are scratched.
