In the 3rd race at Del yesterday I bet a 10/1 shot to place in a 7 horse field.
She went off at 10/1 and the favorite won and paid $3.40 $2.80 $2.20. My horse paid $2.40 $2.10. Afterwards I thought it must of been barn money that bought that payoff, but why the 10/1 to win?

Erzulie Dantor is a diety revered in the Vodou religion. She promises material wealth to all those who pray to her.

My guess is every Haitian in Delaware was down across the board.

Otherwise, makes no sense with the 9-5 second choice out.

Delaware pools are very small, especially in early races. A $20 bet can "pound" a 4-1 to 5-2.

There was $75K in the WPS pools, not bad for that race.

I guess they didn't believe in her enough to bet her to win. :D

The horse had 7.2% of the win pool, then 38.3% of the place and 61.8% of the show pool.

It was the favorite to place & show. It happens when they feel a horse can't win because of the 3/5 horse but is best among the rest.

The exact same thing happened last Sunday 8-10 at MP when jujueyeballs a 3-5 shot finished out of the money and the 6/1 shot who finished 2nd and the 7/1 shot who won paid peanuts to place and show. There was a lot on jujueyeballs to place and show but no big show payoffs on the top 2 finishers, don't understand that at all.:bang:

Where are you getting your info? I have often wanted to go back and check on these type payouts.

HPI allows you to go back..not sure of other ADWs. That was an odd one.

Thanks for the reply. Went to sign up and found the HPI is not available to US residents.

Hi Green - I am a HPI user - I got it exactly where Ban got it.

Yes proof of residency needed otherwise all of the successful punters to the south would gamble tax free. No signing in Canada.

The place bet on the favorite was the bet to make!
