how did the stewards not up hold the objection when you can clearly see the horse got blocked?

Yes...damn it....I had the 4

I had the 4 and 7 in a DD, also had the 4 in our contest.

Obviously wanted it towards the 4 but thought it wasnt warranted. It was always going to be a tough position to win from from the back along the rail.

I thought they made the right call. Take into account its Shug/Javier. I think that matters for something.

So if you're a "somebody" you get preference in inquiries?

I think it was a close call either way... But that could make a difference, yes.
You disagree? I dont think it was a slam dunk DQ. I thought the 1 sat the dream trip and was clearly much the best. That horse is kin to several horses who moved up when going long on the grass.

BUT was a 3yo who had never run against older horses stretching out to 1 3/8 miles - in my mind, a bad bet.

I get upset when I get beat by horses like this, because I feel that I am smarter than everyone in realizing that this is a bad bet. Humbling game!

I thought the chalk in that race was the worst bet of the entire meet. I hit the 1-3 and 2-3 pick 3's. My tickets are all posted on FB, no red board. I used 1,4,5 in the 3rd. I thought the 1 was very likely to move up and still had room to improve.

I don't have specific numbers, but I know McGaughey has great numbers in races of 10 furlongs or longer.

Granted the Phipps homebreds are bred for the classic distances, and the young ones, such as Thursday's winner, all have potential to excel at extended distances. This was simply a case of her being the better horse.
