ABC News (https://twitter.com/ABC/statuses/499645369597579264) reports that US combat troops have landed on Mt. Sinjar in Iraq.

By calling them "combat troops", you're implying a combat role, which is not the case. They're Marines and special forces (the "military advisors" that were announced some time ago) who are there to plan the evacuation of refugees.

I see the wisdom in JR's posts in other threads, for our country to have any personnel on the ground in Iraq we should be filling up oil tankers big time as a condition of being there.

Right.

Oops. Tried to get away with something, forgetting that all the libs here can read minds and ferret out the most deeply hidden ulterior motives.

Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of men?

The lefties know!

Advisers mean combat troops that the CNC is too much of a coward to call them what they are. Probably some kind of pay restrictions as well. Insurance reason, like the Fort Hood troops who were not entitles to many benefits since it was an on-the-job incident.

Listen, if they are are OUR boots and it is THEIR ground and there is combat there, all the rest is "FANTASTIC!"

Isn't that why we went there in the first place? Or do you believe that bit about "ridding the world of that 'monster' Saddam"?

No way. If we had any sense gas would be a buck a gallon and Iraq would be sucked dry by now.

But the again, people in Sub divisions in Ft Worth wouldn't be getting 2-3 hundred dollar checks every month because their 60x120 lot sits on top of the shale, if we had done it right and sucked iraq dry, that is

So, you think the oil companies would have given us a deal on that oil? ;)

Yes, because

1. We rid the world of him
2. We are paying over $3 more a gallon today.
