They used the analogy that all sports count sold tickets as being there whether they show up or not. However, I would counter that you can't buy major sports tickets at severe discounts (unless it is for the Bills) and that those tickets actually are for a seat which can't be sold to anyone else if the person doesn't show up. The two aren't a good comparison.
