He issued a release last night saying that he was taking time off the tour for personal reasons to deal with his problems.
Now we know what part of why the time off.
He's engaged to Wayne Gretzky's daughter.

3 failed drug tests dating back to 2009. PGA Tour now saying it's a voluntary leave, not a suspension.

I didn't think anyone cared. The PGA likes to keep most everything under wraps. Guess this got completely out of hand.

Hope they don't ban beer carts. ;)

When did the PGA start testing for drugs? I always assumed drugs would only hinder a golfer's performance. Power, strength, and speed doesn't really make a golfer any better.

They look tough by going after drugs that don't improve performance, like coke and marijuana. Other example. Arizona Cardinals player suspended for repeatedly smoking weed. Like the wide receiver playing against him would care.

Also heard he was having affairs with more than one of his fellow golfers wives. If it's true it will eventually come out.

Someone (can't remember who) alluded to the coke use in last year's golf pool here on PA. I knew nothing about it, but it stood to reason. A guy that talented suffering big swings in form, and some huge collapses in 3rd and 4th round play.
Had all the signs of another John Daly.

The wives thing is ho-hum.
That stuff must happen a lot within the tour, and probably for decades.
