Used to be that I didn't play Scioto Downs much these past few years....That is because the class of horses had really gone way down, and my playing there on a steady basis, yielded very poor results for me, as a consequence....I just couldn't make money anymore there, back then...

Since the Casino opened tho, the purses went way up, and they began to attract some better quality horses which resulted in some race outcomes that are more to my way of seeing and liking things....I usually only play weekends there, so I don't know if this a normal and regular occurrence during weeknite cards, but I noticed this about tonites card:

There are 13 races on tap, and except for one race, ALL of the races are $5,000 claimers....

I thought I read somewhere that they do that as part of a promotion of some sort. I'll dig around and see if I find it.

Called finish line 5 Tuesdays. August 5 should be the last one.

That explains much, thx for the clarification....

Still odd tho, as I have never seen anything like it before...( a whole card)...

Probably borrowed that idea from Jeff Gural of the Meadowlands, with his C2's Baloney...(almost full cards of C2s) :D

Very competitive racing at SD these days. The top 3 dash leaders are regular drivers racing in 9 and horse fields. The low handle can result in some weird payoffs.

Take this weekend off as there are a bunch of state bred stakes which will result in low payoffs.

I like that...

Sometimes, I am amazed at some of the prices on logical contenders...

That always gets my full attention...
