I just read an interesting article online about a new type of betting machine, that would compete with slot machines. If you care to read the article, what's your opinion on this new type of machine? Here's the link:

There is another type of mechanical horse racing game by Sega, called Royal Ascot. Perhaps some members have played this game in the slot machine area at their local racetrack or at a casino.

I've played this game myself in the past for recreation, but don't play it anymore. Why? Because it took me awhile to realize that it's just another slot machine-type game. You can win at any slot machine game in the short run, but you can't win in the long run because there is a house edge on every bet. The only long term winners on slot machine-type games are provinces, states and racetracks.

I played the 1st generation of those machines; those did not give enouigh information about the races to begin to use any skill. Unless they use fuill pp's they are slots!!
