Sounds like a war on women. Those militants must be Republicans.

Whack jobs.

Religion--has it been a net positive or a net negative to the world? After boning up on my history and seeing present day events unfold, I'm beginning to think the latter....

you have to admit his solution doesn't have many moving parts. Just difficult to execute.

It's not religion, it's THAT religion.

the world needs to start a war on muslims. Be interesting to see how many switch.

Israel may have eliminated the vast majority in 1967 had anyone else joined in on the bandwagon. They took down the Egyptian army on their own in a mere 5 days.

I am not sure that the answer is to single out Muslims.
The ultimate end run would be getting to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin to join in the launch that is inevitable.

First, I have avoided the other mega-thread on purpose.

There's religion and there's spirituality.

In my way of thinking, religion is more about the relationship of people with people whether it be within the context of worship, conduct within an institution called a religion or on a cultural level.

Spirituality is about your relationship with an entity most would call God.

Too often the two get mixed together, and, because religion is about people and is a human institution, flaws will always be present. That can only be changed if you can change human nature.

As history shows us, things never are static and things never proceed in a straight line. On balance, I would hope religion has been a force for good. But, if it has been, then likely one could say just barely.
