After an in-depth study, Rolling Stone (http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/pictures/the-5-most-dangerous-guns-in-america-20140714) magazine has identified the five most dangerous guns in American.

Contrary to what those who defend the right to own high-powered assault rifles believe, not all guns are created equal. Due to a combination of availability, portability and criminal usage the following five types of guns are the country's most dangerous.

Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. The numbers are stark: According to the FBI's 2012 Crime in the US data, nearly 70 percent of homicides for which the FBI received weapons data involved the use of a firearm and handguns alone accounted for about 72 percent of firearms used in murders and non-negligent manslaughter. While the FBI does not elaborate on the type of handguns used in these incidents, the ATF's analysis of weapons confiscated from crime scenes provides a more specific look at the weapons criminals prefer, which we've shared with you here.

I won't spoil the surprise. Check out the link above to see if you own one of these evil weapons.

Waste of time and money doing any such study.
The answer is simple.

The most dangerous guns are those that get into the hands
of right-wing whack jobs.
Followed closely, of course, by plain old nut cases.

The study and the article are a waste of time and money because it did not produce any useful information. And that's what happens when people with zero knowledge about a subject try to prove their pre-existing biases about it.

They don't even know what their study showed. What they found was that a lot more pistols are used in crimes than are revolvers, a foregone conclusion to anyone that knows about guns. Why are a lot more pistols used than revolvers? Because there are a lot more pistols in use in the country, and thus they are more readily available to criminals. And so on down the line.

pistols are much easier to conceal as well. Who woulda known this if not for this study?

A majority of these researchers need better analytical skills

Surely you can't dispute that right-wing nuts are the most violent?
Oh wait....you probably will put a spin on it.
While you may not care for those with left-wing sympathies,
you're much safer in their company than the alternative.

Here's a few for starters:

Try again,
Loughner was a registered independent and voted as such!

And even further, in regards to Lougner, one of his friends had this to say
"Caitie Parker, who attended high school and college with Loughner, described his political views prior to 2007, prior to his personality transformation, as "left wing, quite liberal,"

But never let facts get in the way......!!

And listed the Communist Manifesto as one of his favorite books on his Facebook page. That book leans a little to the left as I remember.

The Vegas cop killers were white supremacists and the LAX shooter was just plain insane. None of them showed anything recognizable as a political philosophy, right wing or otherwise.

It just goes to show that stereotyping is rewarded in some circles and then actually becomes fact. Face it, the guy looks like a right wing nut job and shot a Democrat with a gun. What isn't important is what really happened, it is that the imagery invokes the proper response from the Pavlovians.

There I was thinking Elastoman was the only creature capable on patting himself on the back.

As with many topics aired on this forum, opinions vary according to sources.
I'll trust mine, and say that all the examples of killers I listed leaned to the right.
Your sources say different - somebody is wrong.

If right wingers were the gun toting bogey man you make them out to be, you would be holed up in a cave and there would be no Democratic politicians left.

You're absolutely right, on this occasion.
Fortunately, there are deterrents for those with such leanings who
happen to possess at least a small portion of sanity.
