I'm entered in the Woodbine Thoroughbred Handicapping Challenge. It's my first Tournament

Only $2 WIN and PLACE Bets ($2WP = $4)
Exactly ten (10) WP bets required

Anybody have a good strategy for me

I think its your choice of ten races on sunday using woodbine and Saratoga only.

Since there are 10 races with $2WP each race, you pretty much want to target $80 plus as the goal mark (minimum double your return).

5 races must be from WO
5 races must be from SAR

rule of thumb......

2.5 x your starting bankroll gets you in the hunt

2.5 x 40 = 100

ps........one horse per race WP

ASD had simulcast tournies during the winter with slightly that format. 10 races, WP bets, but it was any 10 races from any tracks that started from 12-430 that day.

Came close to the money one time. Not sure if it would help but from what I remember, around 80 dollars would get you near the top.

Hey Ted, Did you signup to be NHC Tour member - just in case you come in the top 3?

You talked me into it Ted.

What did Groucho Marx say about going a group - "I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member."

Well I didn't listen to Groucho (although I usually do) and how I will win for sure - Vegas here I come

Why hasn't equibase put up the race schedule for the 20th yet?

Everyone who is going to be at woodbine challenge I'll be wearing a blue hat with shimano written on it

Sunday races aren't drawn until Thursday, so this week it would have been the 17th. You'll generally find them on equibase sometime after 2pm.

Wednesday cards ( or holiday monday cards ) drawn on Friday.
Friday cards drawn on Tuesday.
Sat cards drawn on Wed.
Sun cards drawn on Thurs.

If you look at the condition book, it will tell you what date a card will be drawn on.
