So I just landed in a city with a casino and I am thinking of stopping in to watch some races.

When you are in my spot and maybe only have a quick PP to look at, what are you looking for?

Morning line, Speed and Trainer's win percent is the fast and easy when out of town.

I'm thinking about starting a 1-900 number for $80, my best bet for the day. A taste of what you'll get. See post #3

Ha well apparently you can't bet horses in a new Orleans casino.. You can do anything you can imagine but they apparently draw the line at horses......

I agree with thaskalos. Without proper preparation I can not and will not bet real money on anything.

If I felt like playing in that situation, I'd bet $2 a race w, p, or s, every race at my top track + a few interesting simulcast side plays. I'd also make trip notations.

I'd just do it for the satisfaction of being right, with the $2 merely keeping score. If I had a terrible day I'd lose $25. If I had a decent day, I'd pay for the gas and spot a trip horse.

However, I'm a racing nerd.

The obvious answer to your question would be form, and the tote board.

If you are a big bettor you would not have asked this question, my assumption. THASK'S response is a wise one. However, a few small bets for action, I would consult my daily horrorscope plus other suggestions by AL and Fischer. Lol. Look for overlays of course since u have ML and what public likes. So have fun.

I would look for house quinellas, and play them if possible. Not sure where, if anywhere, these are offered any more.

One always has only limited info. Yup, sometimes it is even more limited.

I agree. I'm doing that now while I'm rewriting my software. I have to bet on Saturdays. It's in my blood.
