Picks for Aqueduct Sunday:
R1 - #1 French Horn-I like the breeding for FTS. Only time you can bet FTS with this barn is when Prado is up. Also like the entrymate. He ran decent first try off a layoff, gets lasix today.
R2 - #2 Sonny and Rose-Got caught pressing a hot pace last time and faded. Switches to Castellano today, a jock this trainer clicks with at 30%+. Barn does well with 2nd off the claim horses too.
R3 - Pass. ML favorite looks too tough to go against.
R4 - #13 Kennel Up-Comes out a competitive heat, with the winner going on to run 2nd in a stakes and the 3rd place finisher coming back to win also. Santos will have to give him a good ride from this post though.
R5 - #3 Fly With Karakorum-Showed big time speed last time when pressing a very fast pace. Think he can take the lead here anytime based on that, he’s overdue to put it all together. Santos, the last jock to win with him stays on.
R6 - #3 Fortunate Damsel-Bred for turf, gets Fragoso, with whom the trainer is 3/7 with this year.
R7 - #6 Ihaveadate-Like the way she ran last time, added distance isn’t out of reach. Likely low price the only drawback.
R8 - #4 Chowder’s First-Came back in a pretty tough spot at GP, where he just stretched his legs. He wasn’t that far off a couple of runners in here last year, the maturity factor may move him up. Been drilling well in the am.
R9 - #1 Byback-Pace scenario may be favorable for him today. Drops out of some competitive alw heats and switches to turf, and his breeding suggests he may like it.
