I just watched the DVD of Vol I last night and I loved it. And I couldn't give a hoot about kung-fu, the ultra violence, and obscure Hong Kong film references. I do like Sergio Leone though and Tarantino structures this like one of his revenge spaghetti westerns.

Plus the sight of Uma in that yellow suit, and that deadly Japanese girl in her schoolgirl outfit.....

The final shootout, or whatever you call it, is one of the most exhilarating action sequences of all time. And the confrontation with Lucy Liu in moonlit snowfall is pure cinematic bliss.

Haven't seen Vol II yet.

I saw Tarentino the other night on Charlie Rose. He said that Volume II is better than Volume I. The original film was like four hours long and so they decided to cut it in half and make two movies out of it.

I still haven't seen Volume I but I'm going to rent it maybe this weekend.
