I saw the Space Needle when I was in high school. It was really impressive to a farm boy from Nebraska. I haven't been that impressed since. But then I don't travel much because I hate the "getting there" so much. There are only two things I like do, see the Eifflel tower and attend a PA toga party. It is unlikely either will happen.

I traveled extensively for a living since 1984 in my career worldwide, so I have been to a large list of cities, countries and places. I lived in Paris for a few years before coming back to the US in my early 20's. That gave me a different perspective on the World.

Country wise, other than the USA I've been to England, France, UAE, Israel, Turkey, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Morocco, Egypt, Zambia, South Africa, Poland, Canada, Mexico, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Argentina, Singapore, Japan, China, Australia, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Austria, and Norway. I won't list all the cities. I think that's it. May have missed one or two countries.

Most memorable visits were;

Sokol Blosser Winery and Voodoo Donuts in Portland, Oregon

Train Museum in Sacramento, California

Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota

River Walk in San Antonio, Texas

Champs Elysee and Arc de Triomphe , Paris, France

Walking the beach in Morocco

Scuba Diving in Cancun Mexico

New Years Eve Fireworks at the Eiffel Tower Paris, France

Shopping with my Girlfriend at Harrods London, England

My first Starbucks Latte circa 1991 in Seattle, Washington

Fly fishing in Argentina

Fly fishing The Green in Dutch John, Utah

Visiting a Souk in Abu Dhabi

Skiing in Breckenridge, Colorado

Riding the Tube in London, England (Mind the Gap!)

Watching the sun set over the Pyramids in Egypt

Babe Watching in the French Riviera ;) Trust me, this was a memorable visit

Eating and drinking beer at a Stube in Bavaria

Walking Yonge Street at night in Toronto, Ontario

Ripley's Museum tour in St. Augustine, Florida - Believe it or not

Sky Deck, CN Tower, Toronto, Ontario

Sunset Dining at "Windows on the World", World Trade Center, NY

Viewing Michelangelo and Da Vinci's masterpieces at The Louvre, Paris, France

Visiting the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC

Viewing the sheer scale and power of Victoria Falls and Niagara Falls in Africa and Canada

That's about it for now. I could probably think of others if I had the time.

Like Billy, I've traveled on business for many years in int'l sales management. I've been to Canada, Mexico, Haiti, Costa Rica, the DR, Columbia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, South Africa, Dhubi, England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, India, China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bali, Australia.

I lived in Indonesia for a while, so have some vivid, non-touristy memories of life. The poor really are poor there, and it's an insult at times to call our poor by the same word. I enjoy taking in the culture more than the sights, so the things that stick out for me in all my travels are how good people are generally speaking. Now there's rough areas in any country, but people generally are nice people and just want to get along with others. Also, people love to share their culture and want to learn yours. If we're talking life changing experiences, the one that comes to mind is a time in Surabaya (Indonesia) when I was sitting at a bar with expats from about 8 different countries. We'd talk politics of the day late into the evening, and that's when I realized that Americans don't have nearly all the answers, and that other opinions are easily as valid as our own.

I've seen some amazing sights and natural wonders. I sometimes pinch myself that a poor boy born and raised in Appalachia could have had such a life. I have a few more things I'd like to do, like visit the Serengeti and Mt Kilimanjaro,

I've been to a lot of places, but then again, not enough places. These rate pretty high on my list for reasons of beauty to coolness to just enjoyed it otherwise:

Niagara Falls
Independence Hall/Liberty Bell
Gettysburg
San Diego Zoo
Santa Monica Pier
Grand Canyon
Hanging Lake near Glenwood Springs, CO
Hotel Colorado (got an unofficial tour, real cool)
Key West and snorkeling 5 miles off the coast at Marathon
White knuckle mountain driving north of San Francisco-don't look down
Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island (got to act out a hearing there)
All of those commercial theme parks on both ends of the US
Cooperstown, NY
Battle at Johnstown, NY and a really cool late 1700's cemetery nearby
Smoky Mountains
Porcupine Mountains (MI)
Wisconsin Dells
D.C.
Cozumel/Playa del Carmen/ruins at Tulum

Wherever we go, if there is a racetrack running, it's on the itinerary.

Lot's of other cool towns and cities as well, but these are my favorites with more to follow.

Beignets and Coffee at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans

Camping at Trout Cove Cabins in the Great Smokey Mountains

I have a few more things I'd like to do, like visit the Serengeti and Mt Kilimanjaro,

That's on my list as well. I've been to Denali in Alaska, and seen the Alps and the Rockies, and the Andes and have flown over the Himilayas, but I have never been to the Sarengeti and seen Mt. Kilimanjaro.

A friend of mine has. He told me it's heart-stopping.

He said he arrived at a hotel at the base of the mountains at night. He woke up in the morning, assured he had a mountain view room, walked out to his patio and looked out but could not see the Kilimanjaro. He said when room service was delivered, he asked the waiter, "I thought I could see Kilimanjaro from my room?"
The waiter said, "Indeed you can sir."
My friend replied, "Where is it?" Pointing out in the distance.

The waiter smiled, and said, "Sir, you must Look UP"

He had to look up 45 degrees to see the mountain. He was that close. Can't even imagine. Must have been spectacular.

Bucket list for sure.
