Finally something I can agree with you on.

Yeah, a clear 4th would have made Coburn's day.

Maybe "cost superfecta bettors a clean 4th" would have been a more compelling topic.

Since when do bettors matter?

Those who had Chrome in fourth got paid $7616 for it, while those who had Wicked got $11467.
What's not to like?

What do you think? Maybe a firing squad for him?

I'm guessing the Chrome super would have paid double had he been a clean 4th. But, what's an extra 7616 between friends.

How about a month suspension and 10k fine?

The guy had bigger fish to fry and he was coming up short. Hey lets whip hell out of him, need his pps to read KD 1st, PrSt 1st, Belmont, clear 4th. Victor Espinoza was not thinking about anybody's superfecta 50 yards from the finish, and rightfully so.

I need to get a life. I can't believe this is my 2nd post to this thread.

California Chrome was spent. His tank was out of gas.
Espinoza didn't stop riding. There was nothing left to ride.

Nobody with CC in 4th on their super ticket would have ever asked, or expected Victor Espinoza to dig into a beaten California Chrome to secure 4th place in this years Belmont. Considering how the race went down, anybody that had him there should be thanking their lucky stars the horse got what he did, instead of laying into the jockey for not finishing the last 20 yards.
