Short field, so caution somewhat advised, but this seems an excellent spot for this horse.
Seeking the Sherif will set the pace. He's been superb lately, but against weaker and going shorter (6f and less). Today he stretches to 6.5f and faces some stakes-types, a couple of whom are coming off layoffs and may not be sharp.
The key is that someone engage STS. On paper, there's not much speed, but given the expected lone F scenario and with fresh horses in the race I think it's a real possibility someone takes a shot at him early and presses him into the turn in sub-45. If that happens, MT should be perfectly placed to mow them down. Key off the race 2 back, where he picked up lengths in the stretch against G2 sprinters at this distance, before moving to the turf for a failed experiments marred by some trouble entering the stretch.
At 4-1 or so, worth a nice win and place bet. If you think STS is going to get an easy lead and hold on, could play him second in a cold exacta.
