Anyone have an opinion on which is the better truck? I am seriously considering getting a new F150, but after driving the Dodge Ram, that is a nice vehicle as well..

Tough decision..

Spent the last 6 months (and a LOT of money) putting an addition on my house. Most days I had at least two or three pick-ups parked in front of the house. I'd say it ran about 80% Fords, 10% Chevys and Toyotas, no Dodge Rams at all. These guys know trucks and drive them until they drop.

I also have a buddy who likes to camp out in the boonies, and his F-150 has 120,000 hard miles and always gets him back home over rough roads.

Dick

Remember, my opinion is as irrelevant as yours.....

I've owned four Ford trucks over the years, Only had one in the shop for engine repairs. And although Dodge makes a nice truck, the smoother, more comfortable ride is the Ford F150. The top of the truck line is the Lariat F150 4x4, which is what I own. I love it, but it is a gas hog and I am selling it. But what an awesome truck. Just one mans opinion...

If it were me I would get a Toyota Tundra but down here in truck country the F-150 is the best seller. Should tell you something.

I've heard Toyota has had some problems with the Tundra. I've got a new 2WD Tacoma and love it.

Speaking of your area sweitz, I spent a week down in Laredo Texas, I've never seen so many white Fords F150's in one place! I think it was against the law to own anything else.

I just moved in to a brand new house with only 12 homes complete out of 34 that are to be built. So as one could imagine there are plenty of trucks hanging around on a day to day basis.

While I haven't paid that much attention to what make/model they are, I'm fairly sure there are a bunch of Ford's sitting outside my house every day, many are of the diesel variety.

I'll give it a closer inspection tomorrow & post my findings.

Personally I have driven Toyota for the past 6-7 years & have been very pleased with every vehicle which includes 2 Camry's, 1 Tacoma & the current Solara.

Anyone talking on this thread about foreign trucks is off-topic and unpatriotic!!LOL!! Ford is the best but any american make is better than a foreign one! And probably less likely to be stolen!! If you were stuck in a ditch, you would want a Ford or even a Dodge around, but not a Toy!

Thanks for all the opinions.. To throw a wrench into the whole thing, I think I may need a 'roomier' truck, possibly in the 9 month range :-) (Not certain yet though)

So an Explorer is looking more likely for me.

According to Toyota's website, the problematic Tundra is made in the USA! 2005 the Tacoma will be made in Mexico!

I have one too and love it. It is a gas hog, but I am trying to sell my '65 Mustang GT over my beloved Effie.
