I saw that too and apparently he is going to be in the Los Alamitos Derby. I guess the field is down to 10.

I never really understood the level of support for this horse, he's got some figuring out to do.

I admit to being intrigued by the lack of chatter about Samraat...

Tonalist to me could go either way...superior challenger or flop. Not sure why I feel this way but I do, even after watching all his races.

Who wants to bet that Commissioner drops and Pletcher is eliminated. I take that back I just saw that he might have a duo with Matterhorn. IDK.

Matterhorn is supposedly now being considered as a new shooter for the Belmont, according to Pletcher.

Not to go off topic but I think Pletcher runs horses just to say he ran.

I can't say that I will criticize him until I have seen for myself how he trains. I can't wait until the Belmont to see how many horses are added and removed. What are the odds of a walkover.

come on PA, I think it would be easy to get an owner to buy into the Belmont. One is ego. The other is that they can trumpet the horse as having competed in the Belmont Stakes, and if they hit the board, the horse has upside in the barn. If you put all those things together, it isn't such a hard sell IMHO.

I think you're mistaken. The man doesn't work just for his ability to talk, saying, "I ran". Nor does he do it for his health. This past weekend, he passed Lukas as the most winning trainer in thoroughbred racing history with over 268 MM+.

I was hoping the guy in the Far East that bet $1 million on Candy Boy in the KY Derby might be betting him back.
We need more players like him.......

Mike Roxborough (former owner and founder of LV Sports Consultants)
tweeted this on Derby Day.
Apparently, the guy was Asian and he was betting a hunch.
Not much other way to describe a bet like that.

$1 million dollar win bet on Candy Boy at post shortened his closing odds to 9.4 from 16. Provided small bonus to CA Chrome bettors.

I'm sure plenty of owners run, so they can have the pride and notariety of running.

If I were the connections of Ride On Curlin, I'd find/get a speedball type and enter it, and harrass CC, to help wear him down for that extra 1/43/16 of a mile! I'm hopwdull ROC can make up that 1-1/2 lengths from the Preakness, but finally getting CC softened up (if the first two races haven't done it - to either of them) might help.
