I just got back from New York, and was at Belmont on both Wednesday the 14th and Friday the 16th (on the 14th I hit the late double and the late Pick 3 and the late Pick 4).
But the most interesting thing of all was looking at some of the PPs in the DRF which revealed that 14-horse fields are being carded at Gulfstream this year, for the first time - including at 1 1/16 miles on the dirt!
Woodbine, Laurel and Colonial Downs also allow 14 horses to start in many of their races.
Will this trend grow and spread?
