This is awesome........when he wins the TC, more deals will be pouring in. Several weeks before the derby, Los Alamitos announced they were gonna have a 500k stakes race this summer, all thanks to Cali Chrome.......

You could just see this horse was gonna win the derby.........

Will the jock wear a Google emblem on his pants? Is that allowed in the Belmont?

depalma is joking but there are some employees at google who follow horse racing and are also owners.

I sort of detest this aspect of the Triple Crown - when the corporate vultures come looking to pick at chunks of flesh. It all becomes a circus.

I thought it was a spoof when I could not find one piece of media pertaining to it.

It's too "gimickey" to truly be a Madison avenue marketing marriage. IMO anyway.

Still, that could be the way to get horse racing back in the mainstream.

Look at Nascar. An advertising train of otherwise useless cars. That's why it's on tv all the time.

This is very good for racing because it brings a sponsor to the game who is in tune with the young generation.

Yup.....the younger generation will not pick up a newspaper to read it. Its all about what's going on online & the TV.

The internet is where I get my news.......watching news channels like CNN is worthless now a days.

His Wikipedia page is so long its bizarre. Seems like someone paid someone else to write that up, other horses who won the first 2 legs of the TC have much shorter pages. In fact, this page might even be longer than Secretariat's page.

Does not surprise me that CC gear is sold out, Goatchaser.

I've said it in other threads, but if I were a Disney Executive, I'd be on a plane and talking to the owners NOW for the movie rights. Before somebody else does. If they have not already.

It is called the Los Alamitos Derby and it is just replacing the Swaps stakes that was run at Hollywood Park.
Chrome is doing wonderful things for racing, and will continue to especially if he wins the Belmont, but this does not have anything to do with CC.
