Thank God that is over. Now we can get back to the same old West Coast bias arguments...

It took a couple of dusty westerners to finally drag NY into the 20th Century ...

Yes, it's about frickin time.

seriously, although now NY has to deal with the nightmarish uncertainty of having a nasal strip fall off in the paddock.

One of the cohosts of the Today show this morning wanted to know who the new horse named Nasal Strips was that was going to beat California Chrome in the Belmont.

here is a question:

if he wins the triple crown, how much does that nasal strip become worth? and where does it go when he takes it off? hmmm..

LOL

Somewhere, there might be a knot of traditionalists singing the blues, but eminently proud that they were the last holdouts against jockey logos and nasal strips. Defiant and gallant to the end, old chap.

Here's another story on their effectiveness. One study found that it reduced bleeding as much as Lasix.

Am I allowed to handicap while wearing one?

God knows I need more oxygen to my brain. ;)

Doug O'Neill must be livid after he wasnt allowed to wear them on his horses.

It was nice to see a little fire lit up under the sleepy town of horse racing. We're going to need more of that kind of passion if horse racing is to make it back to the mainstream.

So much room for improvement.
Next topic: centralized consistent stewards rulings...?
Not going to happen in our lifetime, is it?

Interesting. Sounds like a 'proceeds to charity' opportunity.

Do we know why he was denied? OR if he even asked?

Doug O'Neill must be livid after he wasnt allowed to wear them on his horses.Something tells me not...something tells me he knew just like I knew, this time would be different.

It wasn't hard to figure out...I can't imagine this turn of events surprised O'Neil in the least. You should have seen this decision coming up fifth avenue in a parade...kind of like a fat bald guy float
