I'm guessing a lot of the talk is going to be about one CC vs. the other CC. :p

Here'as an under over how many of all those stakes NYRA is cramming into that one day will we NOT be able to watch live because NBC won't show them and won't let TVG or HRTV show them live?

NBC is BAD for racing.

Tom, I have never understood why NBC network refuses to show the turf race ahead of the Preakness. The Dixie is, I believe, a $150,000 stakes race which was in progress while Bob F----ng Costas was running his mouth. I realize that the show is scripted, but NBC cannot allow 3-4 minutes to show horse loading into the gate and the following 2 minutes to run the race ? I hate NBC !!

At least let the REAL racing channels show the races live.
Two today were totally unavaiblable.

I wish horse racing would get NO mainstream TV coverage - it would be better for the people who support it the rest of the year - through Aqu inner in the dead of winter. where are all those idiot camera mugging personalities in February in frigging Ozone park? do we really need those ice skating clowns and TV heads in pink shirts and bow ties? Focus on the damn racing and let those who are really interested FIND US.

I know I will not tune in to a minute of the Belmont weekend telecasts. I am even cancelling that Friday off to save for a better day of racing in the summer.
I have no interest at all in the circus day. I'll wait until the charts come out.

Road trip. Love this horse. Love this story. Google says about 11 hours. I hope PA keeps picking against him and assures a Triple Crown. :)

I've seen some really great racing in my time (fan since the 70s), but this has the potential to be the best racing card of my lifetime given both the supporting races and magnitude of the main event.

I know! Was like a kid on Christmas morning with the anticipation, and this was 10 minutes after they crossed the Preakness wire.. :D

Sell them on EBAY, because if you try to sell them race day at the track, you won't get much of a premium at all.

I bought seats on Belmont Day when Funny Cide and Big Brown raced. I paid face value or an extra $20 or $30 in each case. As you probably remember, it was rainy the day Funny Cide raced and really hot the day BB raced, so I suppose perfect weather could prevent you from getting seats this yr at a fair price. I'll take my chances.

Can I get some kind of award for traveling the farthest? We are coming from Bakersfield California. In fact if anyone if going that knows the track and might be around Friday I'll be there early, never been to Belmont before.

Well, if you can get there really early on Friday, they have something called "Breakfast at Belmont", starts at 7:00AM. Check out the Belmont Park website, the info is under "General Information", scroll down a bit.Not happening on Stakes day though.I would call and check the schedule.

Whatever happens, enjoy your time in New York !

true odds s/b based on weather and size of field.

hoping for a clear day, with a decent field of at least 9 opponents.

based on this thought : 140,000.

With rain ; 45,000

The 2011 Belmont got 55,779 in the rain with no Triple Crown on the line, and you think there's gonna be 10,000 less than that with a Triple Crown bid in the rain? Wow.

Well, Rex, if I could go (work permitting and it won't), I'd be coming from Oahu, Hawaii the weekend before, so I'd be in the running to win. I guess it would depend on what you have in mind for the winner. For a free beer, I'll have to pass. For two, I'm there! ;)
