I mean, everything I am hearing is saying that the hash tag on Twitter is now the dominate force for social reform.

Why shouldn't the committee follow their awarding of the prize to Obama with a prize to the hash tag?

(We will dismiss the use of Twitter during the Arab Spring.)

It must be awarded to a natural person who is still alive.

The IAEA, IPCC, EU, OPCW, ICBL, UN... They've given one to just about every acronym assembled...

Obama is a natural person? :lol:Yes. In the legal sense, as opposed to a corporation, club, etc.

The IAEA, IPCC, EU, OPCW, ICBL, UN... They've given one to just about every acronym assembled...The award has frequently been given to organizations, but Nobel's will says "...to the person..." The hash tag is neither a person nor an organization.

My personal opinion is that giving the award to organizations violates Nobel's intent.
