Par times, variants and Figs

Hey all. Im a recreational player and numbers guy. I also dabble a little in programming as a hobby and I have a pretty extensive database of PP's and results. I know par time charts, track variants and figures can be purchased but I'm interested in generating my own, as much as a learning experience as anything else.

I have the following books:
Quirin - Thoroughbred Handicapping State of the Art
Quinn - Figure Handicapping
Beyer - Picking Winners

All excellent, but dated.
I was wondering if there were any more contemporary guides on the subject out there.
