I'm of course biased, but I can't imagine anyone not liking KD after this:

KD is more that an NBA MVP; He is an All-World MVP...and the ultimate athlete for our kids to look up to as a role model. I had never seen this side of him before...and I couldn't be more impressed.

Thanks for the video, CJ. You've managed to turn a cynical horseplayer into a KD fan for life.

Oh my goodness. Tears are rolling down my cheeks. (Like all mothers.)

He has so much love and appreciation in his heart.

Far beyond class, he's the definition of ... Grace.

In Round 2, good luck Thunder!

Thanks for sharing CJ......
Prior to me seeing this young mans speech, he was one of my fav's......

It is because of him I like the "Thunder".....I always admired his "game" as a player.

After the speech, I now know what a true class act he is!!!! Now, I admire him as a man as well..... Thanks again.....

As a HS coach in Oklahoma, it warms my hear knowing we have a role model like Kevin Durant. His comments in his TNT interview were refreshing as well. He stated that basketball won't define him and that life is much bigger than MVP's and championships. He proves that you can be ultra-competitive without selling out. He's the most likable figure in sports now (Peyton is passing the torch).

I didn`t make it through that speech with dry eyes. What a class act
K.D. is. The kids of the world need more role models like him to build
their dreams on. Thanks for posting that C.J.

Durantseems like a good kid and he is from my home state. I do cringe when people think he's as good as LeBron though.

You cringe?

He's a different type of player than Lebron, they're not comparable because both guys can do things the other player can't do. Lebron has proven he's the best year after year, but KD is sensational, he's an upper echelon elite player, there's not a heck of a lot that separates them at this point, if someone said they would take KD over Lebron, i wouldnt really argue with them, i think at this point, its just preference.

Much thanks for posting, CJ - a very moving acceptance speech. Although, as an NBA fan, I had some idea of KD's character and background, this really filled out the portrait - a great person as well as player. Since he obviously intended his message to be inspirational, I hope it reaches many of those young people currently going through the kind of tough times which he himself clearly endured on the path to NBA stardom.

Best,
