By the way you describe yourself on this forum........ YOU WILL LOVE THE PREAKNESS

I have seen more wild and crazy things going on in the infield of the preakness than anywhere else in my life combined

I am in pursuit of a ticket as I type. I've got a lead on one for a "reasonable" price, compared to what some will pay. This is a "friend of a friend" whom apparently has it, and I am hoping this is not a goose chase.

I'll keep you posted. I was going to be in Vegas that weekend, but if I can score the ticket, I'll gladly take a drive to Maryland.

Whiz - you should have waited until Preakness Day - never buy ahead of the event. You can typically buy at face-value right outside of PIM.

What he said.

Also, the people checking for tickets everywhere are local teenagers hired as "security" for the day who will gladly let you in anywhere for $5-10.

My father had his knee replaced this spring so we will be pretty stationary on Thurs and Fri.
Most likely in the Sports Palace upstairs on Thurs and always an apron seat for Susan Day on Friday.
Saturday we sit about halfway up the stretch with the common folk, and we love it.

Pimlico is my favorite track. Love the place.
I drove down for Bid's Preakness in '79, but after Friday, the crowns, traffic, etc, I watched it on TV from Penn National. Spent the afternoon at Hershey's.
Ask me about chocolate, anything...... :D

Just checked "Stubhub" and there are about 100 tickets available starting at about $49 each.

Between them and CL Baltimore, I should be good if my "Friend of a Friend" turns out to be a scratch.

I checked out the simulcast sked and they got a full slate but I was thinking maybe that was just laurels sked

Belmont day when funny cide was going for TC all Belmont had was Belmont....

Question: admission is $25 Preakness day does the tickets I have for the seats cover that 25? I'm not happy being stuck a green bird befire I walk in door

Anybody invading pimlico that week?whizz, you're still young enough to go party in the infield. Screw the races , bring some of your boys from Jersey and go drink, listen to music and check out the sights. Oh I forgot, you actually do like to bet, so forget what I just said. Get there as early as possible though, your going to have to park in the hood on someone's lawn or in front of their house, the earlier you get there the closer you will be able to Park near the track.

The Thurs card at Pimlico is usually lousy - all the best runners on the grounds will be racing on Fri and Sat.
I usually play Belmont that day and only dabble at Pimlico.

Black Eyed Susan day is my favorite. Good racing, moderate crowd, and you can move around the place easily without much restriction.
In other words...you can get right next to the winners circle and the rail.

They have a Preakness handicapping seminar that morning that usually features Andy Beyer and some DRF guys.
Also, a jockey autograph session, if you're into that.

"Can't wait!!"

:5: CC WONDER WHAT YOU ARE PICKING ON THE PREAKNESS? YOUNG BUCK!

Here is what I'm doing....I got my mind made up already

I had 40 win 250 show on CC in derby

The 140 I cashed for on win bet is going on CC to win...

The 525 I got back on CC to place is going back to plave on him

He wil pay 3.40 and 2.80

Then I'll parlay it all to place on him in Belmont....he would be 1/5 but will pay 3.00 to place like smarty jones did...he paid 3.10 or 3.30

Good Luck!

I've got about 100 entries so far, as I also play via TVG and TwinSpires and that leans my XpressBet play out.

However, I'm also playing the Powerball Lottery, so I'm doubling my odds of winning some money, right? :D:ThmbUp:

I'll be there for both Friday and Saturday. It's one of a my favorite weekends of the year. As stated above, Friday is the best day. There's nothing like being able to stand at the rail with your tickets as they come down the lane!

I once said that last sentence to my wife, to which she quickly replied, "There is nothing like taking a bunch clothes to the register with coupons in hand!"

I prefer the light rail shuttle over the parking pass...hop on the light rail at Timonium, park for free, 3.50 I think all day pass, light rail to coldspring then bus to pimlico the timing is probably similar..maybe a hair faster with the shuttle but driving is a huge nightmare at pimlico.
total cluster leaving...if I were you I would dump the pass on eBay ..pocket 50 bucks and take the shuttle
