Listing my top plays for the card here. Top 3 picks listed in (). Going to handicap this as Fast & firm & before scratches for now.
Race -1 The :7: . Wanted nothing to do with the off track when last seen at Saratoga. Is the speed of the speed in here. Working well for Stall hitting 24% off the layoff. Rosie up a plus at 3-1 ML. (7-1-6)
Race -2 The :3: . Goes routing the 1st time for Catalano hitting at 22% with the move. Appears to have good tactical speed and a stalking trip would suit this one well. (3-2-6)
Race -3 The :2: . Easy winner of last off the layoff. Nafzger hits at 19% 2nd off the shelf & 9% back off the maiden breaker. 92 Bris figure easily the high last out. Repeat within realm. (2-3-10)
Race -4 The :10: Wide open affair here. I've landed on this runner with Rocco Jr up today. Led along way on the poly last out which should have him set up for a good stalking turf trip here. At 10-1 the price is right. (10-11-4)
Race -5 The :6: . 3rd off the layoff an incredible 37% move with this trainer. Owns the high Bris figure at this distance. Lots to like here at 7-2 in this group.
Race -6 The Turf Sprint. The :3: . Off the layoff for 32% trainer off the shelf. Been working well for the return to the races today. Red hot Stewart Elliott up at 5-1. (3-8-6)
Race -7 The :8: . 12-1 ML bomb for Whiting. Some solid efforts at OP before the ship in. Has been tearing up the local strip in the mornings including a bullet work April 25th. Price is right. (8-2-1)
Race -8 The Eight Belles. The :7: . Tx Bred has proven she can handle the trip and the surface with a win here already. Cuts back to the 7F distance. 3rd time off the layoff a 29% trainer move. 3-1 feels good here. (7-10-4)
Race -9 The Edgewood. The :10: . 3rd time off the layoff for Casse. Goes AW-to-turf for a 12% trainer move. Drop in class gets this home today. (10-4-5)
Race -10 The Alysheba. The :5: . 3rd time off the layoff for Brown a 30% trainer angle & 28% back off the beaten favorite loss. Looks to be a 2-horse race with WTC. (5-2-7)
Race -11 The Kentucky Oaks. The :13: . One of the top 3 year olds running this weekend. The 107 Bris figure last out towers over this group. Asmussen 22% 3rd off the layoff. The one to beat for sure.( 13- 2-4)
Race -12 The :8: . Off the layoff for Wilkes a 10% trainer move. Adds Lasix for another 13% move. Breeding suggests surface and distance will not be an issue. 5-1 in the get out race here. (8-3-4)
