There isn't a racino close to me so, I'm curious, do they charge for parking or admission to the casino and/or track? Do they offer casino patrons "player rewards"?

Thanks,

I'm familiar with Yonkers and Saratoga.

No charge for Parking or Admission, and there are Player Rewards Programs.

Monticello Gaming and Raceway ..

offers $3.00 Valet Parking .. which I recommend because their large parking lot that used to be FULL before O-T-B's has deteriorated to potholes, mud ponds and trash thrown all about.

$1.00 coat check

Discounts on buffet via gaming points earned

55 Thursdays.... those over 55 years of age can get a free NY Instant lottery ticket.

Promotional gift giveaways... even though I never received a card... IE. toaster ovens, can openers, aka other kitchen small appliances.

Last but by no means the end..... Player $ coupons... which is double what a Full Casino at an Indian Reservation would be.

On the horse racing side at Monticello, the horsemen have gripes with management and have limited the ADW taking the races.

I've never seen a racino charge admission

Tracks without slots generally do charge

I guess what I was wondering was if the race tracks adding casinos are receiving less $ because of free parking and free admission.

Without the Casinos, all of the harness tracks in NY would've closed.

my main track of penn national used to charge admission before they moved into the temporary "paddock club" next door and eventually the newly constructed racino on the original site. however, back in those days probably about half of their eventual live racing crowd was afternoon simulcast fans who were already in the building before the admission started (5pm ?) and the other half were people with racing licenses that didn't have to pay....... so it wasn't like there were even hundreds of fans paying on a typical night. wayyyyy back in the day they used to charge for parking too, but that ended shortly after I got my driver's license.

I've been to pen, poc, ct, del, and prx and would say pen is the nicest racino if you're a racing fan. but the player rewards suck at Hollywood properties pen and ct, especially for poker where you get NOTHING. I might have $3 or $4 on my player's card at pen compared to hundreds in atlantic city where I can't spend my rewards $ as fast as I earn them.

At Aqueduct, NYRA has it's own lot which is closer (when you get a good spot) to the main entrance. Parking is $3. No cover charge. You can park in the casino lot which is free.
