Obama appoints an FCC Chairman who worked for cable and telephone and gave tons of money to Obama Dems. Now he's going to take care of his own, at your expense.

I've been sitting on this for a few days. Apparently nobody else cares to post it. I think you'll care when you can't afford to watch your twinspires video or Netflix goes to $20 instead of $10.

Lots of articles on this.........do some Googling.......Crony Capitalism ?

How about if the Supreme Court rules against Aereo soon? Feel your wallet tugging? You should.........getting to pace advantage might cost you more soon.....

"Obama's choice

A former cable and wireless industry lobbyist, the chairman is a longtime Obama loyalist and fundraiser. Prior to today's proposal he had declared his commitment to a "free and open Internet" and public service.

"If I am fortunate enough to be confirmed, my client will be the American public and I hope that I can be as effective an advocate for them as humanly possible," Wheeler told senators during his confirmation hearing last June.

His decision to clear the path for a payola Internet is an insult to the millions of people who have actively called on the agency to preserve the open Internet. And it's an insult to President Obama, who has repeated his commitment to Net Neutrality on multiple occasions since declaring his White House ambitions.

For Obama the choice is now clear: Either you're for Net Neutrality or you're for Tom Wheeler's Internet payola. You can no longer say you're for both."

Without net neutrality, the net is worthless.

I like how all these guys from ATT, Comcast, Verizon say you can't expect it to be free. Last time I checked, my bill was 49.95, which is up from 24.95 because they couldn't service the wires that came into my house for the last 25 year and I had to go to Fiber Optic. It's a bunch of crap!

Just a quick question, which "side" of net neutrality do GOP members of Congress generally favor?

In the interests of time, I'll answer: They oppose any such regulations which would ensure an "open internet".

But hey, the PA plague of Obama on the brain extends even into the Computer forum. I get it.

I thought this was a good piece, just FYI:

You reveal yourself. There are politicians all over the map on this. And most don't get it. I am not like you. I don't preach from the book of one side of the aisle, when they are wrong, they are wrong. That includes "GOP'ers"

This case is an obvious payoff to Obama's buddy. I don't care who goes along with it. They are wrong.

Lots of talk in tech circles about being betrayed by Barry O. But I won't post any of that. Nobody gives a shit what techies say. Silicon Valley helped prop him up. And now they too are taking a knife in the back. Along with the rest of us. But we're used to it.

This will create a "premium internet toll road" and you won't even know which road you are on, or if you got what you pay for. It will line the pockets of phone companies and the Comcasts of the world. With no accountability at all.
