Just watched "The Cup" last night on Amazon Prime. I've been wanting to watch this for a while since it came out a few years ago. I believe it was released in 2012.
I thought that they did a great job with realistic racing scenes. Better, IMO, than "Secretariat". I'm sure all you guys are aware of the 2002 Melbourne Cup and Jockey Damien Oliver whom lost his Brother and Father (both Jockeys) before winning with the U.S. Foaled Irish Trained horse "Media Puzzle". For those that aren't, it's a pretty heroic story with a happy ending given the circumstances.
For those of us in the sport, I'd say it's definitely worth a view. For those friends and family that aren't into Horse Racing movies, this one should hold their attention. The drama is played out very well, the cinematography is great, and the actors are first rate.
