It's calculating Great Circle distances. I looked at a 300 mile radius and Okla. appeared multiple times (Dallas is 375 miles north of here, using conventional driving practices). This technique is accurate at close distances.

Coooool.. I didn't even know there was a Phonex NY, let alone how close I was to it!
What really got me is that it told me to come out of my driveway and turn left towrds Moore Street. They just built Moore street last summer and named it last fall. In fact, I just noticed last week that it was named Moore street, and it is two doors down from me.
But what really got me was it told me to put air in my left front tire before I left!
Now those are directions!
