Over my lifetime, only a handful of horses earned the most special place in my heart. Safely Kept was one of them.

What a thrilling filly to watch ! Hall of Famer Sprint Champion of a lifetime !
She lived a long life and will forever stay in the hearts of us fans !

She's on my short list of all time favorites. They don't make em like her any more. I'm glad we can relive some of her great moments on Youtube.

My favorite race of hers was 1989 Breeders Cup Sprint!

44 second half mile battling with the wickedly fast Olympic Prospect, then opening up a two length lead with 1/16th to go, only to get nailed at the wire. What an effort!

Some pretty impressive winners on that day (Sunday Silence, Go For Wand, Bayakoa, Rhythm, Steinlen, Prized)
