Former middleweight boxer Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, who spent nineteen years in prison in connection with a 1966 triple homicide for which his convictions were ultimately thrown out, has died of prostate cancer at age 76.

I vividly remember this story. RHC was featured on a piece from - I believe was from 60 minutes which detailed the shooting(s) he was supposedly involved in. They were in Trenton NJ if I remember correctly.

He was an up and coming fighter in my teen years.

Yes at the time he was way across town....cops stopped the car, took them in and it went downhill from there

Went to the "Benefit for Hurricane Carter" concert at the Houston Astrodome in 76. Dylan, Roger Mcguinn, Santana, Dr John, Isaac Hayes, Stephen Stills and many more were there.
