No this isn't one of those polls about who is better suited for the derby, but I just thought it deserved to be acknowledged what a show these two put on at Gulfstream this year. Been watching replays for days now and those races are highly entertaining to see how these two went after each other from the time they opened the gate all the way to the wire. Its almost like Affirmed-Alydar competitiveness albeit at a lower level.
Jan 1st in the GP derby they hook up around the quarter pole and duel each other to the wire, final margin a head to General A Rod.
Feb 22nd the Fountain of Youth is the best. They forget about the rest of the field which they sprint clear of, and have their own match race all the way around the course with almost no separation between them. final margin a head to Wildcat Red.
Then in the Florida Derby they had Constitution break into the scene and steal it, but once again they both went to the front and fought the whole way with little between them. I think that time the final margin between them was a length going to WildCat Red.
I don't know how they willl fair in the derby, but those were fun races to watch as these two just went balls to the wall every time.
