6) Dixie Vow- $9.70 (ML 5-2).
7) Cristina's Halo- $23.20.
8) Café Au Lait- $19.40.
9) Northern Hammer- $8.50 (ML 5-2).

The P-3 ending in race 8 paid $5,622.75.
The p-3 ending in race 9 paid $301.00.

People tend to spread more in the early races so as not to be eliminated quickly...just a guess.

It does seem odd. The 7-9 sequence had a very small pool; only about $5500, a little more than half of the pool for races 6-8.

A bunch of layoff horses at WO may have had something to do with it. What were the morning lines on races 7 and 8? If the race 7 winner figured to be 30-1 but was bet down to about 10-1, it would explain why they would take more action in the 7-9 sequence rather than the 6-8 sequence.

But the main takeaway is: small Pic 3 pools make for inefficient payoffs.

That is a bit of a head scratcher. There must have been only one winner for a $1, and a few 20 cent winners in R8. But it still doesn't make sense, R9 should have been similar. My only guess would be the P3 players got Dixie Vow wrong, i really don't know.
