I've been making a lot of noise in a couple threads the last week or so. Guess I better post some picks this week.

I handicapped the 2nd on Thursday pretty thoroughly. I wouldn't bet my worst enemy's money in here.

I'm feeling pretty much the same about the 6th, the other race I looked at in depth. I was hoping there might be a hidden goody in one of these. I don't think so.

Good For Tony Locke. Don't know him but I'm sure he's a fine man and loves his horses, but when he wins and pays $5 at Santa Anita, boy, that says something about the field, and it ain't necessarily good. That horse has been doing pretty well but when you have to take 8/5 on him, man, that's just a weird picture to paint.

That was an ugly o-fer yesterday.

4/12 SA 5th #7 Minds Eye 8ml.

This mare is freaky fast in the lane. I don't know if CJ puts numbers on splits or not, but I'd love to see what she was given for the final 5/16ths on 4Oct13. I've never seen a horse run that split in sub :27, but she did. They ran to the 16th pole in 21:2, AND SHE PICKED UP 3/4 OF A LENGTH. They then finished in 05:4, and she PICKED UP ANOTHER 1 1/4 LENGTHS. That's just NUTS. She goes sub :28 for kicks, which is the real benchmark for that trip. She got a 3 month freshening, a leg stretcher at GG, and now she's back to what she does best, blazing down the SA turf stretch, with plenty of speed in front of her. She's 5 lengths the best in the stretch in this race, so as long as she doesn't leave too much to do, and none of the speeds slip away, which I don't see happening, I'll be screaming at the TV around 2:40 "Over the top baby. Over the top, damn it!!!"

I don't think we'll see Sadler's Minds Eye again for awhile. She looked funny as she leveled out in the lane and didn't run out after the race. Maldonado just wheeled her around right back to the handlers. Bummer. They did the final 5/16th in :29 flat also. The race totally set up for her.
