***The City of Dallas, Texas passed an ordinance stating that if a driver is pulled over by law enforcement, and is not able to provide proof of Insurance, the car is immediately towed.



To retrieve the car after being impounded, they must show



proof of insurance to have the car released.



This has made it easy for the City of Dallas to remove uninsured cars from the streets and highways.





Shortly after the "No Insurance" ordinance was passed, the Dallas impound lots began to fill up and were full after only nine days.





Over 80% of the impounded cars were being driven by illegals.



Now, not only must they provide proof of insurance to have their car released from the impound lot, they have to pay for the cost of the tow, a $350 fine, and $20 for every day their car is kept in the lot.





Guess what?



Accident rates have gone down 47% and the Dallas solution gets uninsured drivers off the road “WITHOUT” making them show proof of nationality.

Lets just suppose that instead of Dallas those stats came from LA. In which case, they would all be true. The lots would fill up, the vast majority impounded would be from illegals, and accident rates would drop sharply.

Here in Maryland, we do NOT have to carry proof of insurance while driving, yet most if not all ins. companies issue an insurance card w/policy which I carry at all times. Why is it so difficult for many states to pass a law requiring that in addition to license and registration one must carry an insurance card? Why ? And why do you care if a law in Texas or any other state happens to effect illegals? HELLO, they are called illegals for a reason !

Here in the socialist state of Maryland, when people line up to register for license renewal at MVA they are greeted by a bi-lingual state employee. Guess what the second language is ? The second question asked by the state employee is, are you registered to vote. This is not anecdotal; been there and seen, heard it first hand.
