Experts: Chile's M8.2 quake not 'the big one'

Two things about this article that bother me.
First, the tease of a headline is not addressed until the last part of the article. If that's the lead in, why is it last?
Next, the obvious question is not addressed: if the scientist know when the last series of quakes took place and they know the average amount of movement on an annual basis then how far did the plates move from this quake?
A high school kid could do just as well.
