To be very honest I know very little about this horse or Derby history I wager on the Kentucky Derby with Val 2
but I sort of miss all the preps. I just bet the big race as per the instuctions I've learned. A good friend I used to know once told me "Don't be affraid of the bigger tracks and the better races - there just better horses with the same proplems" I miss him
It has been a very hard weekend and thanks to all the support
you guys have used to lift my spirits Including the news of Smarty Jones
Arkansas Derby:
A horse from Philadelphia is on his way to Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby.
Smarty Jones remained undefeated in six races, stalking Purge just as he had last month in the Rebel and charging past him on the turn to win the $1 million Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark. The victory gives Philadelphia-based trainer John Servis and jockey Stewart Elliott their first trip to the Kentucky Derby on May 1.
Borrego finished second, 1 1/2 lengths behind Smarty Jones, while Pro Prado charged from seventh to third in front of 62,264 who roared when Smarty Jones took the lead. Purge faded to fifth. Smarty Jones ran 1` miles in 1:49.41.
