I believe they are running right back on Wednesday. Not enough horses back from Gulfstream yet.

any decisions made as to whether the "Thursday to Monday" experiment had merit or was a bust?

This is perhaps the lousiest card I have ever seen at Aqu.
No race was scheduled with more than 7 runners, before scratches.

Yesterday was bad, today is worse and Weds doesn't look too good either.

It's hard to measure, as you are comparing Monday handles to Wednesday handles, and there were some cancellations last year, but it seems to be a wash. Up some weeks, and down a little some others, but nothing substantial either way. I am sure they will look more closely after today, but it seems like a decent experiment, and the results are inconclusive.

Lousy cards at the other tracks too. Monday has become a total bust...just like Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

But on a positive note...Turf Paradise does have a Monday Pick-6 carryover of $214.

The last two days were the worst back to back cards in Big A history.

I had 6 winners for a grand total of $22.30.
6 embarrasing winners (http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112279)

For those wondering, Wednesday has 65 entries (compared to 68 non-AEs last year), Thursday has 65 as well (69 non-AEs last year), and Friday has a mere 61 (68 non-AEs last year).

So mediocre to be sure, but when you consider there's no turf racing yet, it's not that terrible.

I dont think people mind short fields as much if those short fields are competitive. If you get short fields where "everybody" knows the winners, it just exacerbates the problem.

I agree, I had 7 winners with my top pick today, missed the 7th. But when you look at the prices, $5.30 was the largest payout of the 7.

Race 1 - 4 (4 5 2) (2 is top Class horse)
Finish - 4 3 2 - $2.70

Race 2 - 2 (2 1 5)
Finish - 2 1 5 - $4.20

Race 3 - 5 (5 4 2)
Finish - 5 4 - $3.60

Race 4 - 4 (4 6 2)
Finish - 4 2 - $5.00

Race 5 - 4 (4 7 3) (3 is top Class horse)
Finish - 4 7 2 - $5.30

Race 6 - 5 (5 6 3)
Finish - 5 2 - $2.40

Race 7 - 2 (2 1 3) (3 is top class horse)

Race 8 - 1 (1 6 2) (2 is top Class horse)
