Picks for Santa Anita Sunday:

R1 - #5 Dixie Thrill-Gets key jock switch after a questionable trip last time. Carava and Nakatani clicking at a good clip, and the pace should be honest here. ML fav due for a bounce after posting lifetime best fig last out.

R2 - #2 Magnolia Mae-Low key barn shows some gaudy stats from limited starters. This FTS shows some good works at the training track. Rest of the field doesn’t look that imposing so 5/1 looks good to me.

R3 - #1 La Scala-Gets a key jock switch here. Last one was most likely a prep, wouldn’t be surprised to see her take the lead here.

R4 - #4 Drought Breaker-Makes second start for superior barn. Trainer does well with the sprint/route move.

R5 - #9 Passionforcashin-Pace shape is favorable for him. Two confirmed frontrunners in the field, should get the garden trip behind. Hasn’t run a bad one at this surface/distance yet. 10-1? That would be nice.

R6 – Amerinda-Sahadi does ok with FTS, and Gentleman not doing half bad with his offspring first time out. Should be a good price.

R7 - #4 Teddy’s Girl-Drops out of a strong race into a pretty paceless field here. Might gun for lead at a big price.

R8 - #3 Cousineau-Wasn’t beat all that much when she met up with some of these in Nov. Stretches out again for good barn and has every right to improve at a price.

R9 - #2 Redmeansgo-Makes the important drop into mcl. Should get the job done against these at a low price.
