Anything worth watching in it? - havent heard a peep...

What time does this race even go off? Do they typically show it at on simulcast at the tracks?

I believe godolphin is planning on running 3 and obrien 3 in the uae derby. I would guess that if either of these trainers horse wins and comes out of the race in ok condition, they will be Derby bound.

Imo the best 3 year old over there is the filly Ihtimal.A little surprised they aren't trying her in this race.

Although all the European Classic races and preps are open to both colts and fillies,
you seldom see a filly there taking on colts until later in the year.

Currently, at least two fillies are rated higher Ihtimal.
She may prove the bookmakers wrong, though. Time will tell.

Miss France, trained by Andre Fabre, is favorite for the one mile 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in early May.
The Oaks favorite, Tapestry, is trained by Aidan O'Brien, and it's thought that she will prove best over 12 furlongs.

If there is a filly based in Dubai, then you'll see them in the UAE Derby usually if they were top 2 or so in the UAE Oaks which was run a couple of weeks ago. At least that is how I remember it.

Ihtimal won the Oaks by 10 lengths.

Giovanni Boldini!!

This is a nice Colt.
W.Va. bred from the Coolmore yard.
Sired by War Front, out of an Old Trieste mare.
He ran a big race in the BC Juv.Turf.
He's 2 for 2 on synthetic, so Meydan should be right up his alley.
I think he's good on Saturday,so trainer AOB will send him to Kentucky for a shot in the Derby.

We probably won't see this colt in the US, but Aidan O'Brien thinks the world of his 3yo Australia.
The best young horse he's ever had, according to him.

He'll be aimed for all the big races in Europe.
No chance of being prepped for KY Derby,
although he has others coming through Dubai with a chance of racing here in May.

Breeders' Cup for Australia?
Let's hope so......

The UAE Derby is not a Euro classic race....it's a prep for races with more tradition down the road.
Of course, the purses are huge in Dubai.

I agree.
He has to be the leading O'Brien contender for the KY Derby.
Whether he's good enough is debatable, but he has a shot if he gets here.
