I really don't see what the big deal is. I would hope she's well protected and they are inconveniencing people who think they can get near to where she is staying.

She's on vacation. Michelle and the kids don't want to stay home in the White House. Just like at Xmas when she stayed in Hawaii.

I would be shocked if anyone of significance in China gives a rats ass what Michele Obama says or thinks. They don't give a rats ass what her husband thinks or says.

China is thinking about how to get out from under US hegemony related to the US Dollar's reserve currency status while still having access to our market to sell their goods and services. They don't want to keep accumulating what they know is a toilet paper currency, but it's hard to divorce themselves from this unsound system and continue selling to us without inflicting significant financial damage to themselves because of all the treasury bills, bonds, and notes they already own.
