Can anyone check this? In the 4th at fairgrounds today I bet the #4 to win with min. odds of 5 to 1, at 1 min after post. The log shows my bet went in at 1 min after post at 7.1 to 1. The horse won and paid 5.60. Thats a big drop at -1 post. Any comments?

i had true odds on that horse @ 3.1- 1. i imagine that i wasn't the only person that thought that way. when the odds showed at 7-1 it must have looked like they were giving money away with that price. so your conditional wagering kicked in along with others. then the pool analysis guys saw the same 7-1 as you did and their bets now kicked in as well. add all those factors together and that is how you get 9/5 on that event.

thanks, I just have not seen that large of a last minute drop on any horses I was watching lately.

Isn't this the same track that was identified by Maloney as having a past posting problem?

A lot of people that bet on line wait almost to the gate is ready to open before they place there bet. So if you have someone betting big money can affect the odds considerably.

E.Moon??? He was morning line choice at 5/2. Ran second in his last race at 3/5. 5.60 was probably an overlay. 2$ double 14.60. Very few surprises.

That is a massive drop. Not the first time at this FG meet. A couple weeks ago Heitia was 7-2 when the gates opened and ended up paying $6.60. Really makes one wonder.

There is. Close the tote machines the instance the first horse enters the starting gate. I'm sure the last second bettors will bitch about it but they will adapt.

the intervals on hpi show this horse going to 2-1 10 min before post and not wavering from 2-1...9/5.
