Former Democratic Party chairman Robert Strauss has died at age 95. My most enduring memory of him was the keynote address he gave at the 1976 party convention in New York City where Jimmy Carter was nominated, in which he repeatedly called for an end to the past eight years of "Kissinger [pronounced "Kissing-er"], Simon, Morton, and Butz" (always in that order, with an emphasis on "Butz"). (Commentators at the time remarked that he may have been modeling the speech after Franklin Roosevelt's denunciation of the Congressional New Deal opponent trio of "Martin, Barton, and Fish".)
