Just another example of a promise made under one regime and broken under another.

If you like your bonuses you can keep your bonuses.

Did you know that Ohio was not officially made the 17th state until 1953?

You have to wonder what goes on in some high school American history classes. I think we spent 1/2 a class period on this event. Whether you like the way government is today or not, a knowledge of things like the bonus army help to understand how we got there.

That because that was the year Ralph was born. They had to do something.

Seems more like another example of Republicans throwing our veterans under the bus.

What I find interesting is the zeal with which the officer corps went about completing their mission... that 15 years later all would be regarded as heroes and in 20 years one would be elected president.

Think it couldn't happen again?

I was thinking the same thing. Weird. Ike being Mac's "aide" ? I never knew that.

And these guys were given a ticker tape parade 15 yrs later? Context is everything I guess.

Sometimes it's more 'what have you done for me lately' than anything else.

And for those two, it was a lot, one hellava lot.
