...and Obama's medical czar says, yeah, it's all about politics, so what.
In November, Obama announced a temporary fix for the individual mandate, allowing some policy holders to keep their plans through 2014. Now he is announcing another temporary fix, extending the previous temporary fix through Oct., 2016.
A supposedly temporary “fix” that President Obama announced in (http://washingtonexaminer.com/obamas-blame-shifting-strategy-wont-work/article/2539179)November to address the problem of the millions of Americans who lost coverage as a result of his health care law has now been extended through Oct. 1, 2016, the Department of Health and Human Services announced Wednesday.
In an attempt to limit the disruption to the insurance industry that would be caused by the move, HHS also announced that the “risk corridor” program (which has been described as a “bailout” to insurers) would be further modified to funnel more money to insurers in states affected by the change.
The move, which the Hill reported on earlier this week, comes as vulnerable Democrats are struggling to defend their support for Obamacare in a midterm election year.
It is just the latest in a series of changes that the Obama administration has made to the president's law without going through Congress.

Cynics suggested that the move was motivated by political considerations regarding the November Congressional elections. Obama medical czar Dr. Zeke Emanuel says yeah (http://dailycaller.com/2014/03/05/zeke-emanuel-admits-politics-behind-new-obamacare-delay-for-the-political-gain-its-worth-it-video/), but that's a good thing.
Obamacare architect Zeke Emanuel seems like an honest guy — even when it gets him in trouble. And that honesty was on full display Wednesday, after the healthcare expert denounced the policy implications of yet another Obamacare delay but admitted that “for the political gain, it’s worth it.”
Emanuel spoke with MSNBC’s Alex Wagner about the White House’s unilateral delay of a deadline to kill insurance plans that don’t meet minimum guidelines. The delay will prevent hundreds of thousands of Americans from losing what the Obama administration feels are subpar plans — at least until after the November midterm elections.
The White House routinely denies that their changes to Obamcare — 30 and counting — are politically motivated, instead arguing that they are merely seeking to implement the law most effectively. But Emanuel — who worked for years as a healthcare expert in the Obama administration — admitted this new delay isn’t about policy, but the ballot box.
