Please Note: the Contest begins Saturday March 8, 2014 and ends Saturday April 19

In summary, Players make selections in a minimum of 25 races and a maximum of 30 races including a minimum of 8 Kentucky Derby Prep Stakes races (out of 12 Prep Stakes Races listed in the Contest Official Rules --> here (http://www.paceadvantage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=111359). Aside from this minimum requirement for mandatory Derby Prep races, the rest of the races are up to you.

You make your selections in Threads to be set up for each day of the Contest. To see what last year's Contest looked like, please go --> here (http://paceadvantage.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1593620#post1593620). (Note: to see all the Threads in this older Forum, please scroll to the bottom of the page, find the 'Display Options' group at the left then change the 'From the' setting to 'Beginning').

You start with a mythical $2000 bankroll. Each day, you can wager up to 10% of your bankroll on up to 4 races. Permitted bets are Win, Place and Exacta (only!) You can bet on up to 3 betting interests in each race (only!) The Winner is the Player who finishes with the highest bankroll. Please study the complete Contest Rules (and sign the Poll agreeing to the Rules) --> here (http://paceadvantage.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1593620#post1593620).

$500 in cash prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 finishers. In addition, RDSS software subscribers (as of April 1, 2014) are further eligible for another $580 in Data and Subscription prizes. (Last year, RDSS players took the top 2 positions and won in BOTH prize categories).

If you are interested in learning more about RDSS and the modern Sartin Methodology, and a complimentary 30 day full evaluation of RDSS, please go --> here (http://www.rdss2.com/how-to-obtain).

Any questions about the rules, or discussions about best wagering practices, or anything else - please just post them here!

Good luck - and good skill to everyone!

I happen to find this in my files .. It was the MY first day's wager of the 2013 RDSS Sartin/Bradshaw Memorial 'Road to the Roses' Contest.

Figured I would post it here to refresh my memory and show new contest participants how I posted.. although Ted has put up a link to last year's rules on posting

I got a number of queries or 'commentaries' about the young 3 YO Derby Stakes Prep races mandatory in this Contest. Perhaps young 3 YO races are not your cup of tea: anyone can 'pop-up', the better youngsters often go at low odds, etc. All legitimate concerns. Perhaps more well established, older horses are where you have the edge, where you make your bread and butter. Understandable.

Please remember, that while you can bet up to 10% of your opening daily bankroll balance on any day - you can always bet a minimum of $2 to Win, or Place or in an Exacta. If you never ever touch young 3 YO Graded Stakes races, consider betting only a small portion of your bankroll on the 8 minimum mandatory 3YO Stakes races (or on those which you find too chaotic or inscrutable). Save your major wagers for races where you know you have an edge.

Remember though - you have to wager at least $1000 in total (half your opening bankroll) to qualify for Prizes and PACS points.

Good skill!

A fair number of people are joining PaceAdvantage for the purposes of playing in this Contest (I guess I put them up to it ...)

If you are having trouble getting Registered, receiving messages that your registration is unacceptable, it is likely because your email account is with one of the major free services like Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, etc - all of which have a tendency to attract SPAM sign-ups to PA, and turn Mike's hair grey (he still has some ;)).

If you are having trouble registering: if you are over on PaceandCap.com, just send me a Private Message there telling me the User Name you are trying to register here and your email address, and I will get Mike to expedite it. Or you can send me an email on the same topic: ted@sartinmethodology.com.

If you are at PaceandCap and you can't get Registered here in time to play - AFTER you have tried to register here, and you have sent me a note about it asking for help - while you are waiting, you are welcomed to make your initial Contest Selections at PaceandCap.com in the Contest Announcement Thread (http://paceandcap.com/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=9677). I'll make sure those selections are copied to the Official Contest Threads here, no worries. (This happens every year).

Cheers,

Ted

If you are a current RDSS Subscriber (or become one as of April 1) you qualify for the RDSS Bonus Prizes (RDSS Data, Subscriptions). If I know you are a RDSS subscriber, the marker (RDSS) will appear next to your name in the periodic Standings listings.

If I have missed showing you as qualified for the RDSS Bonus Prizes, just send me a note or report it here. If for some reason you are a RDSS subscriber but don't want it shown, no worries - just let me know. Of course - if you win and choose to take a Bonus Prize, well, the secret's out ...

Cheers,

Ted

Some folks need to go back back and re-read the contest rules. They are making wager types which are not allowed (like Show), and they are using more that 3 wagering entities per RACE. Selections which do not adhere to the rules are ignored, or modified where possible.

Thanks!

If you have been a past subscriber and would like to sign up again for a year, please go here: http://www.rdss2.com/subscription. If you would like to enter the random Prize Draw in this Contest for 2 months of free RDSS Data plus one-on-one mentoring (or TrackMaster Equigraphix or Pocket Handicapper products), please just send me a private note.
