GP Race 7 - 02/28/14

Five contenders :1: Hard Not to Like (5/2), :3: Street Gem (6-1), :7: Floral Romance (3-1), :8: Black Bird Rock (10-1) and :10: Sonja’s Angel – MTO (2-1).

I estimate a final time of 103 +/-.

The :1: and :2: Reconnect (12-1) are the top $ earners in the field. The :1: is possible and shows my top speed but, last raced 4 months ago and the :2: is slower than I’d like.

The :3:, :8: and :10: are the early front runners. The :3: last raced 7 months ago (a negative sign for me). I see the :3:, :8: and :10: (if she enters) fading after the half.

I’m showing the :7: a fast closer and improving in projected form and I’m betting her to win (depending on the odds and how she looks warming up).

HARD NOT TO LIKE stalked the pace along the inside, eased out at the top of the stretch, rallied to take over nearing the eighth pole, then drew clear under urging. UNBELIEVABLE DREAM reserved off the pace, advanced into the stretch to loom a threat but couldn't gain on the winner late while proving best of the rest. ROYAL FURY rated off the pace, advanced three wide around the far turn to reach contention, then weakened in the drive. STREET GEM set the pace along the rail into the stretch and gave way.
